DOES GOOGLE REALLY BRAINWASH YOU?

A big learning step is realizing how little you really KNOW.

[–] Saufsoldat 21 points (+24|-3)  ago  (edited  ago)

Since when is not knowing stuff the same as being brainwashed, though? I feel like people here are abusing the term "brainwashing" to mean "anyone who's not omniscient and can't see through all lies at all times".

edit: Just imagine this post on reddit saying "How many of you think you're NOT racist?". You'd get the exact same type of self-righteous faggots who come out of their holes and brag about how "of course everyone is racist, so pointing that out makes me better than everyone else, because I'm woke". Fuck all you niggerkikes who think this is compelling content for voat. I want to take a big shit on your windshield wiper.

[–] Lyes 7 points (+8|-1)  ago

The media's (and academia's) greatest impact is by NOT covering those aspects of reality which run counter to their approved narratives.

For example, the entire left is united against privates citizens' exercise of their Second Amendment rights. The overt brainwashing is their constant yammering and gnashing of teeth over any narrative-matching shooting events; they'll play endless segments for days and days.

Now when they DON'T cover the self-defense shootings (which occur much more frequently), or barely mention daily mass shootings in Chicago, or bury a story because the shooter was a "transgender" black woman...that may not be active "brainwashing", but it is a key component to the overt brainwashing program.

You can't brainwash people without also restricting information and narratives which serve to counter that brainwashing.

[–] GranimalSnake 5 points (+5|-0)  ago

That's a very fair observation. I get your point.

[–] badruns -2 points (+1|-3)  ago

Not knowing the truth is synonymous with believing a lie.

IE: Not knowing that the official 911 story is bullshit in all aspects and just believing the lie.

Jesus was a Jew. Christianity is based on His teachings & interpretations of the Judaic Scriptures. Mathew 5:17, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."

Did that ruffle any feathers?

[–] TheSeer 3 points (+3|-0)  ago

The word Jew is only about 400 years old. Secondly, those we call Jewish today follow 'Pharisaical Rabbinism', which means.... They value the ORAL LAW of rabbis (in the last few hundred years) OVER what is written in scripture. Get it? The Pharisees follow RABBIs, not SCRIPTURE.

[–] Ina_Pickle 1 points (+1|-0)  ago  (edited  ago)

Not really. Why do so many atheists assume Christians have no understanding of their own religion? It is very patronizing.

[–] N3DM 1 points (+1|-0)  ago

If by Judaic Scriptures, you mean Talmud, then no. You're wrong.

[–] AmaleksHairyAss 0 points (+1|-1)  ago  (edited  ago)

Well, I'm not a Christian. But I look forward to any attempts that may hit closer to home. Here's some info that may help:

I'm a hedonistic weak-rule utilitarian humanist. I don't support many of Trump's actions, but I do support some, and am pleasantly surprised at how well the economy seems to be doing right now. I'm surprised there hasn't been a huge improvement in productivity. I like much of what Obama did. I strongly support single-payer healthcare in the US. I don't like racism. I despise the willfully ignorant. I'm athiest, but not anti-religion. On some days I believe in the supernatural.

[–] Computergeek01 12 points (+12|-0)  ago

Personally, I know I'm brainwashed. Anytime you feel guilt it's because you've been conditioned to feel regret for certain things but the logical part of you is telling you that you're actions have not had any detrimental affect on your life. It's called cognitive dissonance and it's virtually painful. Keep in mind that this is different from the mammalian urge to help the fellow members of your tribe (the city you live in). That should feel distinctly different, like a want as opposed to an obligation, and is a survival mechanism for the species as a whole.

[–] FreeToLive 4 points (+4|-0)  ago

Check out the book No More Mr Nice Guy. Seriously one of the best books for men dealing with child abandonment issue (don't be ashamed everyone has em). It goes into how since we've move away from a agrarian society men have lost their way.

[–] Bananazz [S] 2 points (+2|-0)  ago

Yeah, guilt is such a waste of time and energy.

[–] GapingAnus 8 points (+8|-0)  ago

On the contrary. Healthy guilt is one of the prime feedback mechanisms we have to regulate behavior. The reason I don't steal is not because stealing is illegal: it's because I don't want to deprive someone else of their property and I can empathize with them in how that would feel. Doing so would make me feel guilty and shame at being a bad person or breaking the social contract that exists between civilized people.

Guilt is good. Too much of anything or wrongly applied guilt is bad.

[–] Triple_Agent -1 points (+2|-3)  ago

Guilt is a female tool, as well as religion's favorite weapon.

[–] Ina_Pickle 0 points (+0|-0)  ago

What you call guilt I call my conscience telling me that I just acted like an asshole to someone who didn't deserve it.

It doesn't happen often, but when I feel guilt it's because I acted in a aelfiah way that hurt a loved one.

I don't think I have ever felt guilt for an action that did not have a detrimental effect on someone else.

[–] KekistanEmperor 4 points (+4|-0)  ago

I believe not being too attached to any single idea is a good indicator of brainwash avoidance. Since you can't see through all lies at all times, being comfortable with the possibility or probability of uncertainty is a reflection of a broad minded non-automaton. Let evidence (the empirical observable and measurable type) and the scientific method vet the truth. Everything else can be suspect. The biggest problem with this is the risk of arrested Development.

Edit: That said, I don't believe i'm brainwashed, but i'm a little bias.

[–] zen_music 0 points (+0|-0)  ago

/u/Darwinxmachina, I mostly agree with your synopsis; but I can't shake the thought that remaining uncommitted is part of the problem and serves (((somebody))) very well. I tried for quite a while to maintain my place on the fence, but it's gotten very difficult the past couple of years. About all I can manage for objectivity is to hold the idea that everyone is lying through their teeth. Not a comfy thought.

You know how everybody tells a story so as to make themselves look good? Well it could have started that innocently, but it has gotten completely out of hand.

[–] AR47 2 points (+2|-0)  ago

Brainwashed? Na I don’t think anyone outside of MK ultra is brainwashed really. I prefer the term conditioned because it is more accurate.

I was myself at a time and then I moved away to PA and saw the world for what it is and how it wants to be. I traveled the NE extensively for 7 years from Maine to North Carolina and across to Ohio.

I used to be a live and let live with race and thought it was isolated to crime and not race.

Since then I have learned to make firearms, do most survivalist preparation and construction. Grow my own food when possible (seasonal). I stopped shopping at big retail for shit and research the company I spend money with.

Just lots of stuff really

[–] obsecro-morietur 1 points (+1|-0)  ago

If everyone did this the world would be inconceivably different

[–] AR47 1 points (+1|-0)  ago

I agree it would, but let’s say for a moment that you pick any of those I listed and pretend everyone did it. Think about how different it would be.

Let’s say that everyone that wanted a firearm just made it like I have from 80% lowers and construct them as well from source parts.

Do you know what the number one reason I get every time I suggest someone make a AR?

Oh that seems hard and I don’t have a clue where to start.

Then I get questioned about legality, but that is very eye opening how little confidence people have in their own skill set or even under instruction from someone that has done it.

Legally when someone makes an AR lower from 80% they must do it without physical help from another and that isn’t a law I will break because to me it is very important and I won’t be the fuck that messes it up.

But as of now I have made 6 total guns. Four AR15 and a Glock 19 as well as a 1911. Now I am not an expert, but I do learn from mistakes and research quite a bit and it is rare to see that these days

"Brainwashed" as a word gets thrown around far to much, there's a big fucking difference between being fucking stupid and easily lead, being smart but intentionally mislead by a successful con, just plain being wrong about something (stupid or smart), and actually being brainwashed; That is, having Your personal beliefs and instincts intentionally changed by way of concentrated effort by others to suit Their purposes. Too many people like to accuse others of being brainwashed just because they have a different opinion.

But to answer the (lame) question at hand: I'm pretty sure I'm not "brainwashed" by the simple fact that I don't fucking fit in anywhere. I'm on this part of the internet because I don't fit in with the typical "normal" world, but I don't fit in with You fuckers because the whole nazi thing makes Me cringe, and I don't go for conspiracy theories because they never hold up under their own weight. Despite enjoying video games I don't fit in with video gamers because they all quite frankly live up to the unclean socially retarded pony-humping stereotype. I ride a motorbike, but more out of utility than "lifestyle, so I don't have much in common with any of the bike scenes. I'm a broke motherfucker, so it's awkward as fuck having common ground with anyone I would actually like to hang out with, but I can't stand all of the drooling retard stoner junkie wannabe criminal types that seem to want to be My buddy. Speaking of dude weed lmao, I fucking hate that shit, which pretty much stops Me from having a social life, because God fucking forbid a stoner not fucking smoke for an hour or two.

If I were brainwashed, after 34 miserable years of existence, I would have found a safe spot in life to settle into, as the entire fucking point of brainwashing is to make You fit into something in the first place. Instead, I am the perpetual weirdo.

[–] Vortonet 1 points (+1|-0)  ago

I know I'm not. I spent over a decade systematically being skeptical of every single idea or moral that I have. For each one I listed potential inherent bias that might exist and provided individual arguments for and against them and kept only those that displayed the most objectivity or least subjectivity. I identified as many authorities (hypothetical or real) as I could and assumed their positions and created biased arguments designed to convince myself that the currently held bias amount for or against their goals was both inherent or subconsciously accepted. For each authority I set my bias to the rationale that provided the least bias in favor of any authority (including my own). Then after systematically going through every single thing that defines my subjective world view, I created a series of psychological red flags that would be triggered if any or my moral or ideological core values were undergoing a risk reevaluation that was significantly large. These flags then identify a new idea or morality concept I needed to be more skeptical of.

This is an ongoing process, and of course there is no real way objectively to tell if I am under an influence that is undetectable, but I feel if I set my morality core to a kind of homeostasis, then I can discover what ideas are entering it and which ones are creating imbalance. I label this desire to unbalance the system a malevolent entity, or an outside idea that has been created to gain or cause influence. Anything like that is definitely more likely to be an attempt at manipulation and therefore is placed under extreme scrutiny by myself and given time to consider and evaluate the truth of it subjectively.

I've definitely been conditioned.

It's hard work undoing it, and finding out what you really believe in. It blows my mind when words come out of my mouth and I suddenly realize I don't actually believe in the thing I just said. Self censorship is just as bad too.

It's a long road, but getting away from mainstream marketing/advertising and pop culture/media has helped a ton.

[–] TigoleBitties 1 points (+1|-0)  ago

Even the morbid can be fascinating. We'll do OK as long as we maintain governmental systems where balance can be achieved, just as the framers of the constitution intended. We must always maintain that no one body of self identifying people ever gain too much power. The best road to maintain that is to allow the people to be armed. Only a man that can chose how and what he dies for is free. Anyone bereft of that choice is a slave in all but title.

[–] Teutonic-Pride 1 points (+1|-0)  ago

Well, you got me there, since I am aware that being brainwashed also means, I don't realize that I am brainwashed concerning this aspect. For example I am a catholic, but I despise the Roman church - yet I definitely do not want to renounce christianity. I am aware democratic elections and the monetary system are completely fraudulent, way too easy to be manipulated and the manipulation way too hard to be hard proven. Anyway many things are a matter of believe, for example when I read about STEM, I don't fully "know" all this stuff, so I am in a way forced to believe what sounds more reasonable.

Then again, I do not believe in blatant conspiracy theories (of course there are certain arrangements), I'd say it's more that these people just think alike - well one has to go into detail here...

And I am kinda brainwashed by my own ideas, which I can't prove but I sense they are true. For example: People of power are currently protected by bureaucracy. But instead they should be the first to be affected by their orders/claims --> No talk without action. I.e. if you say "more refugees" than you are the first to take them in. But instead they live in ivory towers.

I try to be less and less brainwashed over time by taking my redpills.

Brainwashed to believe what?

[–] TurdLord5000 0 points (+0|-0)  ago

Everyone has a personal collection of reality tunnels they use to interpret the world. None of them are capable of describing the world in its entirety, all of them are prone to error if applied to every situation.

A good start is do you get your news from sources that have monopoly control over a media market or do you get them from places where anyone could easily enter?

[–] MehWhatever 0 points (+0|-0)  ago

I think everyone has been manipulated into believing various things to some degree but these things are generally compatible with things they already believe and it's rarely done by force or other extreme measures so I wouldn't call it brainwashing. Brainwashing is different.

As for being "completely" manipulated, I guess that would depend on what you mean by "completely". To the extent of like a slave or prisoner? Or just to the extent that I decided to have Starbucks today because their advertising infected my brain?

having ads infect your mind

Still 95% brainwashed.

[–] MehWhatever 0 points (+0|-0)  ago

They wish ads were that effective. FB and Google would lose billions if they were.

I am 0% brainwashed.

I know the difference between good and evil and will confess to it.

I don't believe I am. I have some pretty radical views and I know what a shame all politicians and the US government is. It's important to be a critical thinker and make one's own opinion. If you support the Democrats or Republicans instead of ideas that's a really big red flag. I see myself as somewhat of a libertarian but even then I disagree with a lot of their ideas

Brainwashed or conditioned? The two are not really synonyms.

I am surrounded by highly intelligent people who are consumed by idiot entertainment and drama that in life.... really doesn't matter. And that astounds me.

[–] TheKobold 0 points (+0|-0)  ago

I still find myself practicing political correctness. Some of that is societal pressure and survival instincts some of it is for work.

I am getting less so every day. Being gay and military helps with having been outside the jew culture my entire life.

I don't have limp wrists and don't sache or sway when I walk, no lidp and dont flip out like some exotic doomed bird whenever I don't get my way.

The reality is that most fem faggots are raised by women and so think like women wether admit it or not. Dems have been molding them that way for 30 years.

So since I don't faggot correctly enough to be part of gay viacom owned culture I dont get along with faggots. Too straight.

On the other hand, since Im not a frothing psychopath eager to despoil and destroy everyone else around me and am able to recognize christianity for what it is, straight people don't like me either. Their perspective us jusy as corrupt, just as perverse as the dems because they are literally tools for the same people.

So that leaves me with nowhere, lol. There's a doeside to freeing yourself. Its fucking lonely.

100% brainwashed.

But the right kind....

[–] inmyopinion 0 points (+0|-0)  ago

even acknowledging that brainwashing does happen, means you aren't completely brainwashed.

Me, because I don't want to change the meaning of "brainwashed" like OP.

[–] Raxotic 0 points (+0|-0)  ago  (edited  ago)

Eh, I don't think I am. I don't really know how I could be.

I don't really actually care about the structure of government or any lies politicians would spin. So, you can't really brainwash me in any sort of political sense. I only care about the folk, race, genetics, human biodiversity, about ethnonationalism, the preservation of important traditional values, evo psych, sociobiology etc.

My main concern is what I'm ignorant of.

[–] platinumbubble 0 points (+0|-0)  ago

I think the newer idea of being awake (woke) or asleep is a better one. Red pill / blue pill etc. This idea gives us a sense of continuum rather than simply brainwashed or not brainwashed. We all have blindspots and areas we need to learn more about, have we not? What areas are people here currently finding out about?

[–] Joseppe 0 points (+0|-0)  ago  (edited  ago)

If you don't believe in any of these, you are 100% brainwashed:
- 9/11 was a conspiracy
- Atlantis was (and still is) real
- White people were made on Rhodes by Jakub
- Until 10k, black people controlled the world
- 12,000 years ago, the white devils summoned a cataclysm to destroy black civilization
- Pyramids were build by Jewish slaves to black kangs
- Blacks stopped being human after rejecting Jesus
- Ashkenazim are Khazars, black Israelites are the last true Jews
- 6 million people didn't die in the holocaust, 69 million did

Interested on your thoughts on Atlantis.. care to expand?

[–] Joseppe 0 points (+0|-0)  ago

If you believe that Atlantis was made up by Plato as an allegory, you are a fucking retard (Same if you think it was manned by Proto-Asiatic peoples of the African Steppe)
